An international year of prayer for

StudentsNawal was a student who was searching for God. The god of the Muslims she had learned about since her youth had "disappointed" her. He was distant, cold, and unknowable. She longed for a God she could know personally and who would know and care for her. Then Nawal met a Christian friend who told her that this was exactly what the Living God is like. When Nawal watched the Jesus film, she knew she had found the one she sought. Later she shared a poem with her friend that she entitled, "Yes, I believe." In it, she wrote "I believed in you, yes I believe in you cause right now I find out who you were and who you are. Last time you were an unknown spirit but now I realize that it was you, Jesus... so please stay by my side and don't leave me because you are my refuge. And I believe in you. And I'll always believe in you." There are approximately three hundred thousand post-secondary students in Morocco. While many are in pursuit of money and material gain, others like Nawal are searching for intimacy with God. It is up to believers everywhere to make sure they find it. "Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart." 2 Timothy 2:22 "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles." Psalm 34:17
