The Word of God

Imagine life without a Bible in a language you can read.

That is the situation for the vast majority of people in Morocco where there are four major mother tongues spoken, each with a variety of dialects. Not one of these languages spoken by millions has the complete Bible yet. Until recently most Moroccans were dependent on a few who could read and interpret the Bible for them.

Praise the Lord that some Moroccan Christians now have a vision to translate the Word of God into the language of their own people. Small groups of local believers are meeting, getting trained, and getting organized. Scripture is being published and portions are being produced in both audio and video media for those Moroccans who cannot read. Increasing radio and satellite television airtime is now available for the broadcast of Scripture-based materials in the languages of the peoples of Morocco. Thank God for providing the resources needed so translators can work and distribute the finished products.

The successful assumption of responsibility for Bible translation by members of the Moroccan church is important to the future strength and growth of the church.

"He sent forth his word and healed them." Psalm 107:20

"So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it." Isaiah 55:11

• Pray the translations will be clear, accurate and natural.
• Pray for a hunger for God’s truth in the hearts of all Moroccans.Pray Scriptures will reach all in a form they can embrace as their own.
• Pray translation teams will be blessed in their interaction with God’s Word and will be protected from sickness and harm.
